Tatum Turns 2!!

This is Miss Tatum Kate, she is the most fashionable two year old you will ever meet! We got to go to her birthday party. It was another lovely day in this Arizona spring. In a fun park, in the middle of a sweet smelling orange grove. We had a great day.

We climbed on the bars....

We went on the slide all by ourselves...

We had yummy cupcakes, and watched Tatum and Tiff blow out the candles...

and we played ball with our cousins...

We had a great time, and we hope Tatum had a great birthday!!

Hat Day

Our cousin Annie is getting married on May 1st, which I guess is Kentucky Derby Day. I never would have known that...except that somehow it became the theme of her bridal shower. It was sun dresses and big hats all the way!  Some hats, and some ladies more obnoxious than others...

Avery thought it was great of course. There were only two little girls at the shower, so she felt quite special. It was one of those perfect sunny, spring days.

Here are a few shots of the big hats!

Mary Poppins

Wow, I'm way behind. Jan 25th, Avery and I were lucky enough to have a girls night out. Daddy stayed home with Liam and Em. Cody's mom gave us tickets to Mary Poppins for Christmas. We dressed up, she picked us up and we went to dinner at Fleming's Steakhouse (yummy!, but not too kid friendly), then off to Tempe to see the play. It was amazing. It was kind of late and Avery was tired, but she loved it. The music was so fun, and the set was incredible. It was a nice evening away from the house, and some fun one on one time with my big girl. Thanks Gammy!

St. Patty's Day

It started with a breakfast of green eggs (not very creative, or appetizing I know)

Then we donned our green gear, and outside we go
My aunt and uncle are visiting from Utah with their teenage daughter and friend. We decided to do something Arizona while they were here. Also, something we've never done. Which is rediculous since we live so close. We drove to the White Tanks to "hike" to the "waterfall"

It was lots of fun. Already getting too hot, but that AZ for you. It was a great walk for the kids. I had my sit n stand stroller and Avery was so proud that she was the only kid that never sat in it. She did the entire thing herself.
Never saw an actual waterfall, but there was water to play in. And they all got soaked! They had a blast splashing around...even Em loved the water and wished we'd let her all the way in.

It was a great day to get ouside and have some fun with family

Daddy's Birthday

March 7th was Cody's Birthday. They are always more exciting for the kids than the adults in this house lately. They made home made cards and letters, we wrote a poem  (I'll spare you the details on that one) and
of course made cupcakes.  Which as you can see, Emrie thought were all for her! While everyone was smiling for the camera, she was tasting...yummy!
Happy Birthday to the best daddy ever (direct quote from Liam)

These are just cute cuz Em got new shoes, which she loves and was showing them off!
This weird kid still only has 3 teeth on bottom

New Additions...

We finally broke down and got some furry friends for our deprived children. They beg for puppies, hampsters, and all kinds of other things. So, what do we end up with? Bunnies...
They are cute right now

Don't know if they are boys or girls
SO....

in a few months we may have some to share!

What a week...

This was a couple weeks ago. My dad was in the hospital, so Cody was home alone with the kids. Our good friends live in Whittman. Our camping trailer is parked out there. Cody needed to go do some measuring and stuff, and was taking the kids with him. He called our friend who said they were out of town, but Cody could saddle the pony and let them ride. They were SOOOO excited. Avery found her boots, and even put on a belt because she thought it made her look like more of a cowgirl! They all had a blast. It was short enough that Avery could climb on herself. Emrie LOVED it, which kind of surprised me since she's afraid of anything that moves. They had a blast with daddy, Uncle Cy and cousin Wyatt...

school projects etc...

Avery had her first school project a while back. I seriously don't remember researching or writing anything in the first grade. They had to study and research an animal. She (with daddy's help) chose a horeshoe crab. I knew nothing, but we did it together. She made a cute book, and did all the writing herself. They had an afternoon at school where they all displayed their projects and got to answer questions about their animals. That was her favorite part. She stood and talked and answered questions and loved every minute of it. She learned alot and did a great job!

Liam just likes being at the school with her.

This past weekend, my girlfriend got a condo up in Heber. The kids and I ran away with her for a few days. It was a nice little break. The kids had fun playing in the little bit of snow that was there, and I had fun relaxing and hanging out with friends.

Avery is my new babysitter. Em was tired and I wasn't around, so she cuddled up to her big sister. Avery loved rocking her.
