Alaska...part 1

Wow...what a trip! Can't believe we were gone for an entire month. We had a fabulous time. Some of the highlights were...
Daddy home all day, everyday, not to mention Gammy and Papa to spoil our kiddos everyday.
Visiting and getting to know good friends.
Spending time with Cody's brothers and their kids, some of which live in Texas.
Not a day above 75 degrees.
Crazy sleep schedule... bed at 1-2am and up around 10.
Catching dinner almost any night we wanted to.
Camp fires and smores in our own yard.
Long walks and quad rides through forest and tons of wild flowers.
No TV (there was one, but we never watched it) or news.
Eating good, naughty food everyday. (homemade ice cream, biscuits and gravy, everything with butter! all the stuff we DON'T eat here.
Doing whatever we wanted, all day, everyday.

It was such a special time with our kids and family, something we will never forget. I have so many pictures to go through, I'm sure this will be the first of many Alaska posts. These are some of my favorites of life at the cabin....

Back side of the cabin...all these windows face the river

View from the dock

Garage side of the house

Hanging by the fire

Everybody loves the fire...

We created a fenced in play yard for the kids...with a tent, and sand box. We locked the babies in to play so they couldn't get near the river.

Avery practiced and practiced with her new toy...she got pretty good too! I won't post the pictures of me trying it out...not so cute!

The boys even put up swing sets..kids were in heaven!

on the dock watching daddy fish

as Cody likes to say... "FISH ON"

Daddy's favorite helper

Taking a walk with Uncle Cy and Wyatt

This picture explains why we were so messed up with sleep...this was taken at 11:20 pm. How do you convince kids it's time to sleep when it's this sunny?  I'm pretty sure Liam was still throwing sticks in the fire...gotta love vacation!

Wow Candi that looks ABLOUTELY amazing I can see why you wouldn't have a problem being there for a whole month. I like the caged in playground, we do that here only its in my closet and we just "cage" them in when they bug us. I kid I kid. Anyhow I would love to try some of that fish...is it salmon? Sorry if its insulting that I don't know my fish. :)

Jolene, come visit and I'll feed you all the fish you want. It is salmon...and it's not insulting. That is the only place I go fishing...I know nothing about fish!
